On Becoming More
Copyright 2004 Noel Springer
“To have more, first we need to become more.”
Doing more is not the solution to advancing our business... being more is. It's about working from the inside out.
This gives rise to another question. Instead of, “What do I need to do?” the question is, “What do I need to become?”
What are the ideal attributes of an effective marketer? Put yourself in the position of the customer. Be the customer and ask what do I look for in:
1. A product?
2. A supplier?
As a customer what sort of service do *you* want?
These questions should not be answered casually. The answers to these questions *are* our business.
This is starting with the end in mind.
If you have decided that you buy products that are the best and most cost effective (notice that I didn't say “cheapest” or “lowest cost” ) then you need to become a supplier of the best and most cost effective products.
So if you have decided that as a customer you want good service, then you need to become an excellent customer server.
Now what do you need to do to become an effective customer server?
A product, a sales process and effective before and after sales service. Oh and one more thing... customers!
Now find the product that will supply an existing demand, construct the sales process with a website (and this may be an affiliate site) and follow up, follow up, follow up so that ulimately a living, breathing human being like you will have their need met.
And in meeting that need a fair exchange can take place. The customer is rewarded with having their need met by the goods or services that you supply and you have been rewarded financially.
By being an effective customer server you are now in a position to provide other products and services to the same customers. It is far easier to market to an existing customer that knows and respects you than it is to get a new customer.
Food for thought. When you have become an effective customer server you always have the possibilty of being better and becoming more.
