Niche, niche, niche . . .

by Teresa King

What amazes me is the misunderstanding of Niche.

Allen Says has a marketing niche. First, he had a Warriors Internet Group, now he has a "hosting niche" he has hosting with a membership club that teaches marketing. That's a niche!

He is doing it better, faster, easier than others are doing it.

That is "niche".

Niche is finding your corner, and doing it well. Better service, better price, better value, better payout to your affiliates.

A restaurant that serves real cream rather than half and half or another that feeds you fake stuff.

A place that feeds you fresh fruit, rather than canned fruit.

A hotel that has valet parking and people to carry your baggage to your room and gives you a place to make real coffee in your room.

A motel that has reasonable rates, and is known for giving weekday specials and breakfast rolls brought to you in the morning.

A place that has dinner specials each night that includes coffee or tea.

Those are all businesses carving their "niche".

I keep hearing people saying niche, niche, niche.

Each of us, no matter what we are doing have been carving our niche. No matter how we do it.

Yes, it is easy to find a product that not many others are advertising and get it on google ads, but if everyone starts doing it, than that product will not be that advantageous to you. The clicks will climb up in price just as "marketing words" in google.

I still "say it" and will say it... Do what you love to do, and carve your niche in your area of expertise. Play with so called 'niches' on the side if you have the time, or as long as the clicks are still in a low priced category.

Niche your product, with a good forum, extra step service, timely replies to email, better customer support.

Yes, doing a product that has a demand and not as much supply is exciting. Boy is it exciting. It's way easier than trying to sell marketing to marketers. But, if you are selling gummy bears and happily paying for keywords to gummy bears, and suddenly 500 people start using keywords to gummy bears, you are back to square one!

Especially if only 900 people per month are searching for info on gummy bears.

Do what you love to do. If you find a product that you love, then build a site around that love. That way when your competition tries to horn in, you are well established and have built your name, your honor and your product to the best it can be. And, you can still stay at the top of your field.

If you are interested in niche marketing, find what you love to do. Do searches on areas that you feel comfortable with as an expert or on something you can expand on. Develop a product, even if you just write a 20 page report, then wrap that around products that you can either affiliate with or get reseller rights
too, and make your own place.

There's a software that I affiliate with: http://www.about-cash.com/niche that helps you discover what the competition is and how to decide what is a niche product, or if it is worth it to you to develop and you may need to get a secondary choice.

I see something like that and I wonder, why can't a person purchase that software and then set up a little business to find a person's interest then give then advice on developing a product in their area. Many people would be willing to pay $20.00 for a quick evaluation service rather than paying for a more spendy software and using their time.

There are just so many ways to make money on the net and I find it really hard to believe when someone tells me they are dedicated to their business and they are not making any money.

I started with NONE. Yes, it took me longer to get off the ground, but I got there, and I got there by learning about sales and doing anything I could. The more skills I learned the more I could make money.

I remember when I did a clickbank service of setting up thank you pages for people who were too confused to figure out how to get clickbank to okay them and how to get a thank you page up. It brought me in money as I continued to grow my own business. I charged $12.00.. to do that at that time.

I ended up with more customer service than sales in my career, but either way, it puts food on the table. And, that is why I stress to people, when they purchase something, make it pay in one form or another, before going to spend on something else.

Either apply what you learn, or if it is a reseller right get it up for sale, and get your money back. If it is a software to improve your business, do it!

Multiple Income streams are exciting, but make one pay before stretching yourself to your limits in your bank account.

Find your niche and develop your corner on the net.
